Five major misunderstandings about using CNC plasma cutting machines

1. For perforation cutting, when using a CNC plasma cutting machine, please start cutting from the edge as much as possible. This is to protect easily damaged parts such as the cutting nozzle. To help them last longer, when using them, aim at the edge of the workpiece first and then turn on the tool.

2. Frequent arc starting. When cutting materials, the cutting situation is not planned in advance, so frequent adjustments and frequent arc starting will accelerate the loss of the nozzle and motor.

3. Nozzle overload. Increasing the nozzle current can improve cutting efficiency, but too high a current will damage the machine body. The current intensity of the nozzle should not be set to full load, but should be 95% of the working current.

4. If the cutting distance is too small or too large, the cutting distance of the CNC plasma cutting machine is negatively related to the cutting efficiency. The smaller the distance, the higher the efficiency. However, a cutting torch that is too small will wear out the cutting tip, so this distance needs to be controlled reasonably. It should be noted that when perforating, the cutting distance used should be as large as possible.

5. The perforation thickness is too large. There are regulations on the distance that the cutting machine can perforate, which is generally half of the cutting thickness.

In addition to the above five common misunderstandings in the use of plasma cutting machines, it is also very important to ensure that all parts of the CNC plasma cutting machine are clean. These uncleaned stains will affect the function of the plasma cutting machine.
